Hi, I love your site and wish to someday meet you in person. Or hear you speak in a seminar in SE VA. I have tried in vain to find a list of all the butterflies, moths, insects that rely on the sweet gum tree as a host plant. Can you refer me to where I can find this information, please? Thank you, Linda Ahlgrim

I have lived about 60 years and never knew I was a forager. I have collected pecans, blackberries, prickly pear tunas, wild plums, persimmons and muscadine grapes all my life whenever the season and opportunity presented. Thanks so much for expanding my palate of choices and adding to the many hobbies that make maturity of years a blessing.

    Regards for northeastern Texas

I just read the 10 years’ worth of comments on your Osage Orange post: marvelous! Hubby and I foraged sumac and horse apples today. The sumac to try it, the horse apples to add to our meager supply of OO trees (time to grow some more hedges). I’m off now to start reading your site, thanks so much for all of this information!!

Ive singed you up for the newsletter, which had this paragraph: My annual Urban Crawl is coming up, my twelfth, on Friday, December 17th. It’s a free class. We meet in front of Panera’s at 10 a.m. in Winter Park. We wander south to the college, stop at Starbucks to drink & drain, go east to the public library area, then back to Panera’s around noon. There is a free parking garage behind (west) of Paneras if you go to the upper floors. If you park on the city streets you chance a ticket as the class is longer than parking hours allow.
